massage (eng)
loïc’s journey through and with his body as a dancer gradually taught him not to behold it as a tool but as a landscape, a space to inhabit. a physical space to respect, treat well, have fun with, challenge and nurture. a multifaceted nest. living in that nest inevitably reveals other people’s bodies as coexisting little sanctuaries, architectures for whereabouts, resources, actions requiring energy, bits of poetry in movement. and organically, step by step, the notion of care starts to make sense. and so, step by step, loïc has been learning, practicing and now offers massages.
the invitation to Loïc’s massage is simple yet transformative: enter the session with kindness and consideration towards yourself, lay down, and close your eyes.
performance (eng)
from 2013 till 2019, loïc’s choreographic work has aimed at focusing on affect rather than effect in the quest of corporeal contagion: for the visitors to be moved as a consequence of experiencing the performers’ bodies moving in space.
since 2017, he dived deeper into the notion of live event by researching and creating pieces where polyphonic sound was created by the bodies of the performers, be it through their voices or their movements which, in turn, immersed the audience in its soundscape.
while remaining interested in such an approach, he recently expended his scope of research and creation through solo-work. as a performer in the work, he engaged with his body as an archive, a storyteller and a boombox altogether.
in that sense, loïc’s work wavers between the sensorial and the conceptual, the energetic and the structural, the abstract and the fictional.
